As is always the case with home bean-to-cup machines, we would have liked a bigger water tank. This isn’t a major issue, as it’s easy to refill, but makes the Delonghi slightly less convenient. In addition to offering a good-sized bean hopper, the DeLonghi 23460 also features a one-scoop bypass doser for those occasions when you ran out of beans or just don’t feel like going through the whole process. Very handy! Adding frothed milk to a long coffee is simply a matter of pressing the “Cappuccino” button once to start, and another to stop. You get a nice frothy texture to the drink, and you can add as much as you want. Admittedly, quite often I find myself wanting to use ‘Everything’s Great, No Problems’ as a title for the cleaning section. To the manufacturer’s credit, I think this reflects just how much it cares about this important aspect, in general.

The Delonghi ECAM23.460 is a mid-range bean-to-cup coffee machine that’s designed to produce top-notch espresso and cappuccino from the comfort of your own home. There are also a number of espresso settings. These include choosing between lungo or espresso, coffee quantity (6-15 grams), water quantity, water temperature and 1 or 2 cups. Espresso Taste However, if you’re just looking for a small home espresso maker for yourself then this De’Longhi ECAM23.460 is a great option. Note that you can make adjustments to the other options (changing the strength of the brew, adding milk, etc.), you just can’t save those changes, so you’ll have to reset them with each use. The 1.7 litre water tank is located on the side of the machine. It slides out towards the front, which is useful if it’s placed by a wall. Be aware that the handle is built into the machine though, so if the right side is against a wall, you’ll need to leave a small gap for your hand. Of course, you’ll need to do some experimentation to get your perfect settings. But once you’ve found the right combination and saved them for future use, great tasting espresso is always just a few button presses away.

Another thing we like about this unit is the generous size of the bean hopper, which holds an impressive 8.8 ounces of beans. That size is above average, so we count it as another strong point of the design. The ECAM23.460 has an attractive and stylish design – at least in our opinion! The stainless steel exterior provides a timeless appeal that’s missing from many kitchen appliances. The front control panel also has a modern appearance, so the ECAM won’t look out of place in a contemporary kitchen. You can also easily remove the brew group, rinse it under running water and replace it after drying. Like I always say, you should, ideally, do this after every day of operation. My only concern is about the repeated attaching and removal of the milk container and it wearing out.

That said, I still have to ask myself whether this product is really necessary. At a similar price point, I’m still a touch more convinced by the DeLonghi Dinamica ECAM 350.55.B. It’s more modern, a bit quieter and even more intuitive, overall. I like a lot about this particular coffee maker. My favourite thing is probably how small and compact that it is. This makes it a great option for places such as my personal study. I might even consider buying a couple of them to send out during the Holidays since they’re small and easy to ship. As mentioned in the summary, this makes it ideal for people who live in apartments or houses where there’s very little clearance between the kitchen countertop and the lower edge of your cabinets. However, if you want to treat yourself, the DeLonghi PrimaDonna range is very feature-rich and sits comfortably in the higher-price points. On top of that, it has classic luxury additions, like lots of stainless steel and sexy special features. Change it up! Thanks to the additional milk tank for the cappuccino system you can finally make your own cappuccinos, lattes, macchiatos or just your average coffee. The choice is all yours. This coffee maker allows you to store your favourite coffee setup such as the intensity, cup size, and temperature so that your cup of coffee is always just as strong as you want it to be.

Again, if we have one complaint, it’s that coffees with lots of milk tend to come out lukewarm rather than hot. This is understandable, but if you like piping hot coffee you might need to put milky drinks in the microwave for a few seconds.I have been more excited than the kids were at Christmas,A little gift to me and my mrs after Christmas . This coffee machine is awesome . If you value a quality cup of coffee , you must treat yourself . I can’t fault Delonghi !!! We have felt the pinch after Christmas and so bought this refurbed machine after Christmas at a steel . Item arrived promptly and is like new . Does everything I want it too and more and the wonderful people at Delonghi even sent a water filter even though it states refurbished models don’t come with one . I couldn’t recommend this product enough . Thank you Delonghi !!!! At the end of the day, the De’Longhi ECAM23.460 is a nice entry level unit. If you’re serious about coffee, however, you’ll eventually want one of De’Longhi’s larger, fancier models with all of the extra bells and whistles. There’s also the option of preparing a latte macchiato, cappuccino or cafe latte with a single button press. This dispenses both the coffee and milk automatically, according to the settings you provide, and the results are brilliant. If you’re looking for a machine that can make both espresso and milky coffees with that “coffee shop” taste, the ECAM23.460 is a great option and well-worth the money. Despite the wide range of options, the machine makes it easy to get started. Simply add the beans to the container at the top of the machine, choose your desired coffee type, and let the ECAM do the rest. De’Longhi is well known for making some of the highest quality home espresso makers on the market, and although this machine may appear small and simple from the outside, it can make a great cup of coffee any day of the week.
