The Arishi Trail are a very economical shoe that are senstive and lightweight, are with their low profile traction are ideally suited to crossover, road and trail, runs. A neutral shoe makes up roughly 80% of available running shoes and have the same level of cushioning in the heel and the forefoot making it suitable for a large section of runners. The rugged AT Tread outsole provides optimal traction on the trail or the road, while the Fresh Foam midsole offers cushioning for unmatched comfort through the longest trail runs. I've been wearing them since the late 90's and I'm glad they are definitely coming back in a big way. This is the New Balance Fresh Foam Arishi v4 GTX, a model of great popular draft prepared, now, to offer maximum performance to both beginners and more experienced runners even in the most demanding situations. This will concentrate the force of the impact toward the outside area of the forefoot leading to some runners that supinate experiencing foot pain or even stress fractures as a result. We aren't surprised, considering this is a fairly minimal shoe without added features that contribute to a higher weight.To keep feet locked in, the shoes feature a traditional lace-up system, preventing in-shoe slippage from occurring and keeping feet secure. That said, they cost roughly half what many other options out there do, and rest assured, they are more comfortable than many that we've tested in the past.

Starting with the sockliner, we can say that the new Arishi Trail is equipped with New Balance's dual AT Tread design, which favors a versatile tread for maximum traction on both trail and road.There is no rockplate sandwiched into the midsole that adds to rigidity, and the Fresh Foam compound feels fairly thin overall. These shoes are fairly comfortable, but also have a minimal amount of padding and cushioning on this inside of the upper, including the virtually unpadded tongue. Overpronation in the arch can affect the whole body and cause discomfort in the heel, ankles, achilles tendons, shins, outside knee, outer hip, as well as the arches. With a low to the ground ride and not very much foam underfoot, these shoes are very sensitive, offering great trail feel on smoother trails. For example, a standard width in a men’s shoe is a D width but the 2E width will be wider around the bridge and forefoot allowing the foot more room and therefore not creating friction that leads to the upper splitting and not supporting the foot correctly.

The rubber is able to withstand damage from uneven terrain to give you added confidence when out running. Plus, Toe Protect rubber compound wraps the toes to reinforce the shoe's trail-worthy state, increasing its durability and defending feet against roots, rocks and other general hazards.In this case, you likely get what you pay for, although we find them to be a surprisingly serviceable shoe on mellow terrain and for crossover purposes. The pattern of lugs on the sole of this shoe is very closely spaced together, with a lot of surface area for gripping solid surfaces. Attenuating shock impact, the Fresh Foam protects the joints against stress when striking down on the hard, unforgiving surfaces of the trail without compromising a responsive, natural ride. Sometimes it's hard to stay dry without developing that distracting clammy feeling, but GORE-TEX keeps water on the outside while letting perspiration escape from the inside; keeping sweat to a minimum and you, cool and comfy.
