Askurgan Trueblades: The Warcry Vamps are here, and have the same Warscroll as published on WarCom. Not only are the new models disturbingly tempting, but the battletome includes five vampiric bloodlines, each with its own culture and style of warfare. A few of them are getting more attention later this week, so consider this a tantalising taste. The leader of the Crimson Court has a fairly usual Vampire profile, but his spell is pretty good, giving a target unit +1 to hit. Sadly the rest of the Crimson Court are not that exciting. I was expecting a unit of heroes (Or maybe 4 different heroes that could be taken separately) unfortunately at a total of 4 wounds for the other 3 models I can’t see them managing to do a lot before they are taken off the board. I’ll be most likely using these as Vampire Lords! You could use this unit to extend the aura of Legion of Blood’s Immortal Majesty, making more models run when near a Vampire. Which is kinda odd, really, changing the dynasty and heritage of unique named characters, but rules as written they’re in any dynasty or legion you so choose. At 200 points though, I don’t think even the spell or dynastic flexibility makes the unit worth it. The 60 point ‘Warhammer Underworlds warband tax’ strikes again! Battleline

Their spell, Empower Ossification, extends the range and scope of this special ability, letting them target up to 3 friendly Gothizzar Harvester, Mortek Crawler, or Morghast unit wholly within 24" of this unit and give them an augmentation. All in all this unit is not a powerhouse by themselves, but if you're running a list with a lot of Morghast or other large units, throwing a few into your army could seriously allow you to overpower your opponent. Saving one of the best till last here in the Necromancer. Armed with his trusty staff, Deadwalker wound sponge in Undead Minions and Vanhel’s Danse Macabre you’ve got yourself a model which will appear in a lot of lists. Vanhel’s Danse Macabre being cast on a 6 means it won’t always go off but you’ll be casting it nearly every turn and it lasts until your next hero phase so you can use it with the Skeletons mentioned later to try and pre-empt the enemy coming in and regen more than you otherwise might think you’ll be able to.Anyway, there are 5 subfactions. As normal, it does not limit you from including anything, although some bloodlines are oriented toward a particular playstyle or grant additional battlelines. Many characters in the book are already part of a subfaction and you can include them in other stuff but they won’t gain the benefits of the legion. We’ll go over the traits of each legion and what that playstyle means, and a few choice artefacts and traits that might be worth looking at. For a full deep dive, we’ll work on a start competing within the coming weeks. Legion of Blood Also infuriating got a huge nerf in this book when the others as bonereapers, goblins, slanesh or khorne got HUGE buffs acrosa the boards but vampires only got nerfs across the board in everything On the topic of the new Warhammer Underworlds warband everyone bought to get themselves pumped for this army: if you’re taking this warband, you’re really taking it for Prince Duvalle’s Fiendish Lure spell, adding +1 to hit against a target enemy unit until your next hero phase. The real benefit of this is that, unlike the standard Vampire Lord’s spell, you cast it on the enemy, not one of your own units; the Lord’s spell is restricted to Summonable units, so Duvalle can buff some of the heavier vampiric hitters in your army. The downside here is the 6” casting range, which practically means you’re probably having him walk alongside Grave Guard while the Blood Knights are off ranging with their faster movement.

Pretty much the same profile as before, but they do now get a 3+ save. They have however lost their Chalice of Blood and their Dread Knight command ability, making them slightly weaker than previously. Dragon is still the same with the D6 damage being a little spikey. Right, it is time to wrap up the latest Soulblight Gravelords Battletome for Warhammer Age of Sigmar. Afflicted by the terrible curse that gives them their name, the Soulblight Gravelords are powerful undead monstrosities eternally hungering for the blood that sustains them. Commanding legions of undead servants and terrifying monsters in the name of their creator, Nagash, these lords of Shyish make use of every means available to conquer the Mortal Realms and bring their prey into line. [1] I look forward to getting these finished in the coming weeks and adding more creatures of the night to the hunt! Joel – Hedonites of SlaaneshExperienced Vampire fans will also be satisfied with the content in this section of the book. As I mentioned, they are starting to really feel at home away from the Empire of Old. Again the Vargskyr is another Cursed City unit that is pretty much the same, but has had something cool removed – it no longer reduces bravery of nearby enemy units. Again, this is a massive shame considering the cost of the Cursed City units has gone up! Stormcast Eternals - Nighthaunt - Beasts of Chaos - Gloomspite Gitz - Flesh-Eater Courts - Skaven - Blades of Khorne - Fyreslayers - Hedonites of Slaanesh - Sylvaneth - Cities of Sigmar - Orruk Warclans - Ossiarch Bonereapers - Ogor Mawtribes - Slaves to Darkness - Disciples of Tzeentch - Kharadron Overlords - Seraphon - Lumineth Realm-lords - Sons of Behemat - Hedonites of Slaanesh - Daughters of Khaine - Lumineth Realm-lords - Soulblight Gravelords

Also is easy to see how this book have been nerfed because we have lost every +1 hit and wound in the book that in theorycrafting is the same than this crap nerfed new book have same units but with 33% less damage with the lost bonus to hit and wound We’ll hear more about these sedulous soldiers of bone and their systematic approach to warfare soon – but now for something a little more rough and ready. Ivya Volga, The Outcast Like with a lot of units in this book, the general statline is the same as they were however the banner now allows rerolls of 1 rather than a bravery debuff, and the charge now does D3 mortal wounds on a 2+ rather than improving wound and damage – this seems a bit of a hit to be honest and lessens their damage output somewhat.I really like this mix of different bloodlines and feels it will give us some variety in the armies that we see, though I do think at the moment Vrykos looks the strongest of the 5

While vampires often deign to fight on their own, at the head of a horde of skeletal minions, some come together to form dark knightly brotherhoods and take to the field mounted atop fearless undead steeds. These Blood Knights charge headlong into enemy formations with an arrogant disregard for danger, trampling their way across entire units of soldiers and skewering what few remain on the end of their lances. As with any book we will need to see it perform on the battlefield first before we can jump to any conclusions, but I’m excited to expand my undead and gather together a collection allowing for multiple different army builds. These cunning artificers are the latest addition to the disciplined ranks of the Ossiarch hosts. Katakros and his underlings have been busy refining their tactics, sharpening their nadirite, and practising their magics to conquer the Mortal Realms for the Supreme Lord of the Undead. What’s that? You prefer big monsters instead of zombies and skeletons? Well, in our final stop of the Soulblight Bloodlines we have the Avengorii Dynasty. This was always going to be a strong Bloodline thanks to the vast array of characters, and the rules for them only strengthen the case. Kastelai Dynasty

Soulblighted Territories

As with the throne not much has changed here – the Wail of the damned follows the same rules as the new Mortis Engine and a Fine Vintage now only affects vampires making this really only good for a more vampire heavy build. If you like Special Named Characters, this Dynasty is probably the place for you, as it is still home to the vast majority of characters from this book. Ivya roams the realms alone, hunting hulking behemoths with the help of her beloved woodsman’s axe and her loyal swarm of needle-fanged bats. Battletome: Soulblight Gravelords For those seeking some narrative play to sink your teeth into (sorry, couldn’t help it) we have some excellent content here and it is all fluffy. Vykros – This is where you’ll find all the characters from Cursed City.. If you love Direwolves and Zombies this could be the subfaction for you
