Carvacrol is a secondary terpene in cannabis and is more commonly found as a primary terpene in phenol plants such as oregano, sage, cumin, savory, marjoram, and thyme. I currently have my face obscured by a testing strip (this morning it was my wrist, but I scrubbed it off as I wanted to wear my SOTD decidedly). Clearly, how Interlude manifests itself on your skin will depend not only on chemistry, but also, on how your brain processes the chaotic, odd, harsh, sometimes discordant opening.

A fantastic, powerful incense from Amouage, multi-faceted with many different dimensions and accords appearing throughout its development. I love this fragrance , I do get the oregano and would never have thought of it working but it does when combined with the sweet Smokey incense and Amber , I get there’s only a hint of oud and I don’t get much leather either .They complement each other as a pair, being similar in style, despite being quite different scents - both are complex balsamic perfumes with very strong performance.

This just give me a throwback to my childhood and reminds me of an pine resin after a heavy rain into a woody forest. Avoiding the word 'masculine' here but this fragrance belongs on the skin of someone who commands the room.

Midway through I get a dominant peppery oregano which resemble cloves, that gives a spicy/sweet, warm, woodsy foundation - on me, the clove is King. Smokey sweet amber with beautiful resins blended with the herbal opening makes this fragrance not only very unique but very mass appealing on my skin. I almost want to wash it off after a while because I'll keep getting a sniff of something that reminds me of an old library that's been burning cheap incense. My first impression was completely revised - this is an incredibly full, rich (in choice ingredients) and beautiful fragrance.

I don't know if it's from oregano or pepper or even cumin (not listed up there), but on me the first whip of it smells like someone smoking ganja! Sometimes a spritz in the evening after a long day of work can also have a beautifully soothing effect. There are also now some extremely good clones but i best not name them on here as i am new so don’t want a warning. Conversely, due to the sharpness of Journey Man, this is not certain, because the allspice is there but not very sharp. So when I read various sites (I didn't have a full bottle of Amouage at the time) about what fragrances Journey Man contained and what exactly I was smelling here, "Interlude Man" was suggested to me.

I'm all for a powerhouse fragrance, but I also like one that has layers to the approach, rather than an omnipresent gut punch like Interlude Man tends to be.

The Frankincense note mingles with the Amber note, which to my nose creates this muted sweet dark berry nuance.
