This deluxe vinyl box features the six LPs pressed on 6 different varieties of brown vinyl, plus a 36-page 12” x 12” book.

I wish the insert had more of the art from the original CD booklet to accompany the lyrics - but I only notice that because this was the first CD I ever bought and I looked at that booklet about a million times.

Yes, it doesn't sound as good as the Chris Bellman Insomniac reissue, but Dookie has never sounded as good as Insomniac in the first place. You had the cassette or CD of this one, you probably still do, so you may as well get the vinyl as well. Chump, 'Longview' and 'Welcome to Pardise' all need no critique as they have become as much part of this album as the front cover. The 4 CDs also feature 17 unreleased demos, 6 studio outtakes (3 unreleased), and a 17-track unreleased club show from Barcelona in 1994.The analog warmth inherent in vinyl adds a richness and depth to the punk anthems that defined an era. There are some real classics on here such as "Longview" and "Welcome to Paradise" but really there isn't an album filler here. So, raise a toast with a can of Red Bull and a knowing grin, because 30 years later, "Dookie" is still the life of the punk rock party! I was unsure from what I'd originally heard from Dookie as I was just into their American Idiot album but due to it having such positive reviews I thought I'd try it out.
