Kawaguchi went on to become a music composer at Sega, writing music for arcade games like Hang-On (1985) and Out Run (1986). In a 2002 interview, Naka argued that the game's development and manufacturing time meant it could not have possibly been released in 1984. But there she was, trailing him as though shy of him as Mabel approached, wiping her hands on the bleach-stained smock she was wearing over her sweater and jeans. There, she discovers in the jungle behind her ancestral house a spellbinding garden that harbors a terrifying secret.

I think it was more that almost all of the characters just fell flat and I wasn't all that interested in them. You know what happens when deep dark generational secrets get out of the closet; a chain of dark sad events are set in motion.

Unlikeable characters that change on a dime and everything happening at warp speed would be bad enough, but I would almost suggest the author is irresponsible in her flighty treatment of some really heavy stuff. LISA JEWELL delivers a character-driven story here that is cleverly written in such a skillful way that allowed us to really get into the voices of our main character’s and the storyline. The reader is introduced to both Clare and her neighbour Adele's families, whilst events unfold resulting in one of Clare's daughters becoming seriously injured. It could also be unlocked in the Sega 3D Fukkoku Archives 3: Final Stage compilation for the Nintendo 3DS if the player had save data for Sega 3D Fukkoku Archives.

Further complicating any speculation on the Girl's identity and motive is her relation to the Serpent.Unfortunately there was something missing with this book and I wish it could have been more of a page turner.
