Bat out of Hell has always been recognised as a brilliant album but an absolute DOG sound quality wise mostly down to Todd Rundgrens production and an attempt by him to create a 'wall of sound' great for effect but has squashed out a lot of the mid range. While the sentiments are deliberately adolescent and filled with jokes and exaggerated clichés, there's real (albeit silly) wit behind these compositions, not just in the lyrics but in the music, which is a savvy blend of oldies pastiche, show tunes, prog rock, Springsteen-esque narratives, and blistering hard rock (thereby sounding a bit like an extension of Rocky Horror Picture Show, which brought Meat Loaf to the national stage). Condition - This item is in Excellent condition or better (unless it says otherwise in the above description). I feel really lucky to have this release in my collection, it sits alongside my regular release and 2 of the SACD releases (Multichannel and Analog Sparks) but this will always be my go-to version.
