About this deal

By typing the compilation code (CDYBENOW86) on the net, you can find visuals of the upcoming compilation, with the list of titles of course. Read more about the condition New: An item that is still in its original shrink wrap from the manufacturer and the original manufacturer’s seal (if applicable) has not been removed. Not that they’re bad by any stretch but I think the 85 and 86 yearbooks (and extras) were a little bit disappointing, 85 especially. A couple of things – In your 73 extra plus track list above “Tony Kenny Heart of stone” should be just Kenny.

I would love to start a thread illustrating where the “wrong” versions are always used on CDs, and I would do a playlist of these and “missing” tracks, but some are impossible to track down. I wonder what version of Tarzan Boy we’ll get in Yearbook 85, probably the original but in 85 the summer remix was the version we were hearing on the radio and on Now 6. On that basis, it probably made sense for them to do a mixture of the five years rather than an individual disc for each year – given the dearth of tracks from 1980 and 1981. Latin flavoured Dance-Pop from Animal Nightlife, Gloria Estefan and Miami Sound Machine, and Matt Bianco is up next – before legends Bryan Ferry, Sting, and Simple Minds begin a run of beautiful tracks that close with Level 42’s ‘Leaving Me Now’, Tears For Fears’ ‘I Believe’, and ‘Moments In Love’ from The Art Of Noise.Bicycle Race (Queen), Oh Carol (Smokie), Greased Lightnin’ (John Travolta), Now That We’ve Found Love (Third World), Rasputin (Boney M. Synth-Pop from Thompson Twins, Dead Or Alive, Stephen Duffy, Howard Jones is here– and another collaboration between Gary Numan and Shakatak’s Bill Sharpe on ‘Change Your Mind’ – before Elton John, Paul Young, and King, wrapping up with three exquisite soulful ballads from Billy Ocean, Jermaine Jackson, and Commodores. Mid-1980s Synth and Pop from Howard Jones, Nik Kershaw, Red Box, Scritti Politti and Stephen Duffy follow – as does the debut ‘Election Day’ from Duran Duran side project Arcadia.
