About this deal

I’m a fairly big chap, but I would say that people with larger bums might struggle with the chair. These lightweight chairs don’t provide much seating room, so if you are big-bottomed, I would recommend opting for a more traditional camping chair style. Stability – will you end up flat on your face? I found the Kamui camping chair surprisingly comfortable, although you miss armrests after a while! [8/10] Durability If you’re on the larger side, this chair might not be for you. It has a maximum weight capacity of 100kg which is less than some of its competitors – although given their similar design I think Kamui might just be more conservative with their estimates. Despite this, larger bottoms won’t fit into many of the lightweight camping chairs.

When you sit in it, the fabric tensions, and this gives your arms a bit of support. Not as much as armrests, but it does take some of the weight.I've only tested it for 10-15 mins ... seems like it's going to last. It's quite low down which may be a problem to some people, but perfectly fine for me and will also sit nicely inside my text. [ tent height 160 cm] The framework is a mix between Aluminium and plastic I think, which may present problems later on, especially if the plastic break holding the framework together. Although if you are more on the larger size this may be an unsuitable chair, I'm 5'9 and 73kg and it's a comfortable tight fit. The comfort of these lightweight camping chairs is typically between sitting on a tree stump and a conventional camping chair. The Helinox One Chair is frequently regarded as the benchmark of excellence in the world of lightweight hiking and camping chairs. This is largely thanks to the pioneering innovations that Helinox introduced in this sector, making it the leading brand of lightweight camping chairs.

I’ve put these chairs through the wringer – from high peaks to breezy coastlines – all to help you reclaim the fun (and some storage space) in your outdoor expeditions. Whether you’re a seasoned hiker or just looking to enjoy a festival with minimal fuss, these chairs have got you covered. The Kamui sleeping pad fits easily into a camping tent. Here it’s pictured in my Crua Tri tent. [6/10] PortabilityThe Kamui chair comes in a carry bag, roughly the size of a typical toiletries bag. [8/10] Ease of setup The Kamui chair is the same. It has a very low seated position which means it definitely isn’t built for people who struggle with knee issues or for very tall people who might find their knees beside their faces. The Kamui is also not for babies. These chairs can easily tip over if a child gets too energetic. Chair comfort This makes the Helinox Chair Zero a worthy consideration for ultralight hikers who want to shave off any grams possible. Cheaply made camping chairs may have a weight capacity of as low as 40 kgs., while topnotch and heavy duty camping chairs may carry a weight load of 300 kgs. or more. What is the difference between a beach chair and a camping chair? Choosing the right chair is crucial since you don’t want to use an uncomfortable chair. Comfort plays an important role when buying your camping chair. We recommend trying out your camping chair before buying it. That way, you can ensure the chair is comfortable and fits your needs. Durability

Overall, the Kamui camping chair provides excellent value for money. There aren’t any other camping chairs I currently recommend over it unless you’re very into ultralight wild camping. My Kamui mat felt well made and sturdy. I can imagine it taking quite a lot of use over the years without getting damaged. Despite this, I’ve had an excellent experience with the Kamui camping chair, so unless there are any durability disasters, I don’t expect the overall message of this review to change. What’s in the box?The Kamui sleeping mat has an r-value of 5.7. This means that the mat’s insulation is rated for four season weather, although not extreme cold. This saves TONS of effort and you’ll no longer come out of the tent looking like you’ve run a marathon.
