About this deal

Hot weather - Please ensure you have applied sunscreen on hot days. Bring plenty of water, to avoid dehydrating. A hat is useful if you are sensitive to the sun. In Italy we get: Ciao, wet, wonderful, and magnifico. We get gondolas and gelato. And... that's about it. Yeah. Italy kind of gets the shaft here. The penguins are little idiots. I'm not sure if it is supposed to be funny, but I found it annoying. These sessions also sometimes incorporate exercises designed to improve balance, strength, mobility and general fitness. In Poles Apart, an expert on polarisation, a behavioural scientist and a professional communicator explain why we are so prone to be drawn into rival, often deeply antagonistic factions. They explore the shaping force of our genetic make-up on our fundamental views and the nature of the influences that family, friends and peers exert. They pinpoint the economic and political triggers that tip people from healthy disagreement to dangerous hostility, and the part played by social media in spreading entrenched opinions. And they help us to understand why outlooks that can seem so bizarre and extreme to us seem so eminently sensible to those who hold them.

Our Nordic Walking Group has evolved to become its own little community consisting of friendly, welcoming and supportive people who enjoy a chat whilst they exercise. You can participate with the social element as much, or as little, as you wish. Penguins are found at the South Pole until one day Pilchard-Brown took wrong turn on their way to picnic and reached on the other side of the world. They all found enormous white thing which had never been seen by Pilchard-Browns before. He introduced himself as Mr White, a polar bear. Mrs Pilchard-Brown introduced themselves as penguins. Mr White wondered what they doing here in North Pole. And Mr White told them to see the good side of this mistake as a big adventure. And he decided to help them find their way home.

Curriculum

You will be moving your arms and legs throughout the session so loose-fitting clothes are recommended for your comfort. But who is the Eve behind Eve of Equality? Well... not who you might think. Meet Everett Kane, aspiring writer and fervent feminist. He writes his erudite blog in his apartment, at his kitchen table, conveniently but unexpectedly located right above one of the aforementioned XY strip clubs.

Some idiot penguins end up in the North Pole and meet a polar bear. They get lost on their way to a picnic. The bear wants to go to the South Pole. Then all these idiots try to find the South Pole, wandering through various other parts of the world. Appropriate Footwear – You are advised to wear comfortable footwear that has good grip/tread, suitable for varying terrain such as wet grass, gravel, mud e.g. - trainers. Ideally, for your comfort, flexible soled shoes that are breathable and waterproof are recommended, such as waterproof trainers or flexible walking shoes. It can get very muddy in the park after heavy rain fall. I don't think the countries are explored or explained very well, but it might give you a jumping off point for young readers. I mean, if they can learn to visually identify the Sydney Opera House (and they don't live in Australia), I think that's a win. Perhaps the book will give them ideas about traveling, which is good. I really wanted to like this book, the synopsis was so intriguing and sounded like something right up my alley. I am a male who has written for feminists blogs. I grew up right as Jezebel and similar blogs were starting and took off. It sounded like a perfect read to look at some important, contemporary discussions and do so in a funny way. Further, I actually quite like Terry Fallis..

Technology may have connected the world, but it's now being exploited to divide and polarise us. This is a pivotal moment for this book to be written, read and understood.' Peter Gabriel, musician
