Description

All three models offer great value for money and any one of the three will be a great choice. Is just a case of making sure the model you choose will fit your needs both now and in the foreseeable future.

As the name suggests, this equipment is usable for two purposes: as a cross trainer or an exercise bike. With a high resistance from the handles and the pedals, the machine offers a full body workout when you use it as a cross trainer. These are all home self-assembly products, and we would recommend that they be constructed by two people. While the idea of a 2-in-1 elliptical cross trainer is money and space-saving from the start, it can be quite an investment. And when you want to mix it up a bit, the 6kg flywheel gives you a fair amount of resistance and allows you to really push that leg workout. XS Sports Luna elliptical cross trainer rises to any workout challenge, great for both mild and more intense workouts.

The Gold and Platinum models are more complex and therefore more challenging to build. On top of that, they are heavier and therefore may be a two-person job. This is especially true of the Platinum version, which is nearly 20kg heavier than the Plus model. You should really allow two hours to build these more advanced versions. Sturdiness and quality should be the top priorities. Make sure the machine won’t scratch your floors when exercising and consider buying a mat for underneath it if this is your concern. The right stride length, size and height of the handles are also important for a comfortable workout and best results. What kind of features and workout programs do you need? When starting out, always ensure that you warm up and cool down after your training and build up gradually. A low-level warm up will set you on your way and as your fitness improves, you can increase the level or opt for a more intense workout (defined by more time, fat burning or intervals, as examples). Is a Cross Trainer Good for Weight Loss? The range gives you three different model options at slightly different price points. All fall within the mid-range in terms of pricing and features, but you definitely get an incremental feature and build quality improvement between the models, making it a serious decision in terms of which to buy. For those of you who might have knee or posture issues, a cross trainer is a sound choice of home fitness equipment as it allows you to maintain the same postural position and also puts limited stress on your knees and joints. As with any piece of equipment, you get to know your pace and comfort zone so if any niggles start to appear, you can slow down or change your programme as you exercise.

Medium-intensity workouts are best achieved on machines like XS Sports Luna while staying on the budget. All three models in the range have a good variety of features for the price, that’s important to say. This isn’t a problem if you are a beginner, but if you are hoping to keep your machine for the long term, then the 4.5kg flywheel and resistance levels will not be challenging enough if you are hoping to progress over time. This is especially true if you are a male, or a younger person. So, as you can see, each model in the range has slightly better specifications. If you just want a basic read-out while you work out for a fixed length of time, and you don’t want to push your fitness progressively upwards, then the information contained on the Plus model console would be enough. According to the OxfordLearnersDictionaries.com, the textbook definition of a cross trainer is “a piece of exercise equipment that you use standing up, with parts that you push up and down with your feet and parts that you hold onto and push with your arms”. A bit confusing, we think!

So, with such a small price difference between the three models, we would have to conclude that the extra features, build quality, stability and long-term progressive use you can get, the Platinum model offers brilliant value for money. However, if you want to take your fitness to the next level with user programs and more detailed information then you should be looking at the Gold and Platinum models. The more feature-rich control panels on these two models will help to keep your workouts interesting as well. It is a very competitively priced piece of equipment that would suit most budgets and offers you excellent and efficient results that will help you burn calories and lose weight- whatever level of cardio you’re after.

The higher up the range you go, the heavier and more sturdy each model is. This isn’t to say that the Plus version is unstable, but you will certainly notice the difference in terms of comfort and quality in use. All of the models come with the tools you need to assemble, so you won’t need to find additional screwdrivers or spanners. All in all, an optimal choice for casual to mid-intensity training, space-saving, and practically cheap, compared to similar cross-trainers. Great for teenagers and kids who would like to take up exercising. If you want to build up your stamina and make a solid start, this elliptical trainer can help you cover the basics and work your way through to more advanced machines. The only other thing to mention in terms of storage is that all three models have plastic wheels. However, the budget Plus model does not have great wheels it has be said. But it is lighter, and this is the trade-off. Although it requires a little assembly effort, it’s very compatible and light-weight, given its purpose and versatility. Thanks to the transportation wheels, it is easily stored and basically fits anywhere.
