It did help that I pictured him like Charlie baker from cheaper by the dozen �� I may read Gracie /Tyler because I think the build up will be better and the best friends brother trope is a good one, however I dont find Oakley and Tyler to be THAT close like his hometown friend that has been mentioned as his best friend multiple times.But with his move to a new city and a failing hockey team, he realizes it might not be as easy as he thought to start over. The sweet guy who so easily made the ache in my chest go away with lame jokes and a swoon-worthy smile is here, and he wants me. You could see their connection grow as the book went on and I was rooting for them when they took their relationship to the next level! As a fan of the WHL, I really enjoyed reading a hockey romance that showcases this level of the game.

There relationship was very comforting to read and the drama with Octavia’s Mom was so emotionally charged. I’ve learned that the bad doesn’t necessarily disappear once you’ve become accustomed to the good, but it sure does help drown it out. Octavia Layton is the girl for me and I will happily shout it from every single skyscraper in this city. I don’t normally read sports romances, this is the first one I’ve read in my entire life, and I think there couldn’t have been a more perfect introduction to the subgenre!Then the end up in the same friend group a few months later and slowly get to know each other better and fall into an easy friendship. If you enjoy reading books featuring a strong female lead character with a dirty talking boxer, “give no shit attitude”, family dramas, adorable friendships, love, banter, sexy scenes, and tons of hot smuts, then Craving the Player is highly recommended.
